A small Save button appears on the post you are watching. Click it and SaveClipX opens in a new tab with the link already filled in, so you skip the copy and paste. The extension never downloads or uploads anything itself, it only carries the link across.

How to install it in 4 steps
- 1Click the download button below, then right click the file and choose Extract All. You get a folder called saveclipx-extension.
- 2Open a new tab and go to chrome://extensions
- 3Turn on Developer mode, the switch in the top right corner.
- 4Click Load unpacked, select the saveclipx-extension folder, then click Select Folder. Done, the icon appears in your toolbar.
- *Tip: pick the folder itself, do not open it and do not select the zip. Chrome only accepts a folder that has manifest.json inside it.

Once Chrome has loaded the folder, come back here and run the check. It looks for the extension on this page only, nothing is sent anywhere.
- 1Open any TikTok, Instagram or YouTube post and look for the Save button near the post controls.
- 2Click the SaveClipX icon in the toolbar, the popup should show the link of the tab you are on.
- 3Right click any video and pick Save with SaveClipX. A SaveClipX tab opens with the link filled in.
What it does
On any supported site a Save button sits next to the post controls. One click opens the matching SaveClipX page with your link ready to go, whether that is the TikTok no watermark page or the YouTube MP4 page.
There is also a toolbar button for pages where the inline button cannot attach, a right click menu on any link or video with the same format choices, the Alt+S shortcut for whatever is on screen, and a popup with shortcuts to the transcript generator, compressor, converter, MP3 and watermark remover.

Any video on any site
Outside the 16 social platforms the extension watches for real video players. Hover a video on a news site, a course page, a blog or an embedded player and a Save pill appears in its corner.
It reads the player's own file first, and when the site hides that behind a blob it falls back to the stream manifest the page requested, so players that normally block right click still hand over a usable link.
Pick the quality before you save
Every Save pill now carries a small arrow. Open it and choose best quality, 4K, 1080p, 720p, 480p, audio only as MP3, or the subtitles as an SRT file. The pick is remembered, so the next click goes straight to the same format.
Picking a resolution opens the downloader with that file already highlighted, and picking subtitles opens the transcript generator instead, where you can save the words as text, SRT or VTT.
Queue a whole page and save in one go
Add to queue on any pill collects videos while you keep scrolling. Scan this page in the popup sweeps the whole feed at once and drops everything it finds into the same list.
When you are done, Save all in queue opens the bulk downloader with every link already filled in. The queue lives in your browser, you can drop single items or clear the lot.
Searchable history
Every save is kept in the popup with its title, platform and time, up to the last hundred. Type in the search box to find one, then click Save again to reopen it on the right tool page.
The list lives in your browser only. It is never uploaded, and one click on Clear wipes it.
What it does not do
It does not read your account, your messages or your browsing history, and it sends nothing to us. The only thing it ever does is open a SaveClipX tab with the address of the page you were on.
There are no ads inside the extension, no tracking pixels, no affiliate redirects and no injected coupons. The downloading, converting and transcribing all happen on the website, where it stays free.

Is the extension free?
Yes. There is no account, no trial and no paid tier inside the extension.
Does it download the video itself?
No. It hands the link to SaveClipX and the download happens there, exactly as it would if you had pasted the link yourself.
Which browsers work?
Any Chromium browser: Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc and Opera. Firefox needs a separate build, which is not out yet.
Why is it not in the Chrome Web Store?
It installs as an unpacked extension for now. Loading it manually takes about thirty seconds and the steps are above.
Will the Save button appear on every post?
On most of them. Social sites change their layout often, so when the button cannot attach it falls back to a floating button, and the toolbar button always works.
How does the extension get updates?
An unpacked extension does not auto update, so when we ship a change you download the zip from this page again, extract it over the old folder, then open chrome://extensions and hit the refresh arrow on the SaveClipX card. Once it is on the Chrome Web Store, updates arrive on their own. The version you are running is shown by the install check above.
Can I still use the site without it?
Yes, nothing changes. The extension only saves you the copy and paste step.
