How to download Instagram reels

Instagram gives you a Save button that only bookmarks a reel inside the app. If you want the actual file on your device, copy the link and paste it below.

Nothing stored on our servers No app, no sign up

Copy the reel link

Open the reel, tap the three dots or the paper plane, then Copy link. On desktop, the URL in the address bar works just as well.

The link looks like instagram.com/reel/ followed by a short code. That is all we need.

Download the MP4

Paste the link in the box above and press Download. Pick the MP4 and the file saves through your browser.

On iPhone the file lands in Files or Photos depending on your Safari settings. On Android it goes to Downloads.

Audio, covers and carousels

The Audio tab carries the reel's sound as an MP3, which is handy when you want the track rather than the clip.

Carousel posts list every item separately, so you can pick a single photo or video out of a set instead of taking the whole thing.

Quality, and why it sometimes looks softer

Instagram compresses uploads on its side before anyone sees them. The file you get here is the best version Instagram serves, which is the same one playing in the app.

No downloader can restore detail that the platform removed, so treat the in app picture as the ceiling.

Questions people ask

Do I need to log into Instagram?

No. Nothing connects to your account and we never ask for a password.

Can I download from a private account?

No. Private posts need a session, so only public accounts work.

Will the creator know?

No notification is sent. Instagram does not tell creators when a link is opened elsewhere.

Do stories work?

Stories from public accounts usually resolve while they are still live, inside the twenty four hour window.

Is there a limit?

No counter. One link is processed at a time so the queue stays quick for everyone.
