Instagram reels transcript

Instagram gives you auto captions on screen and nothing you can copy. Paste a reel link and the whole script comes back as text, ready to quote, repurpose or turn into subtitles.

Any language is detected automatically, pick one for noisy or mixed language audio.

Why people use it

Nothing is stored

Files stream straight to your device. We keep no copy of the video or the link.

No account needed

No sign up, no email, no tracking pixel. Paste a link and save the file.

Free, with no limit

Every tool on the site is free to use, with no daily download cap.

Original quality

We pick the highest stream the source offers, up to 4K where it exists.

Built for speed

One paste, one click. No queues, no waiting rooms, no forced ads between steps.

Works everywhere

Runs in any modern browser on phone, tablet and desktop. Nothing to install.

How to transcribe a reel

Open the reel, tap the three dots, then Copy link. Paste it above and press Get transcript.

The audio is read and returned as short lines with timings. Copy the plain text for notes, or the timestamped version when you are working against the video.

Reels, posts and stories

Public reels and video posts both work. Stories expire and private accounts stay closed, so those cannot be read.

If a reel is gone or the account is private, save the file first and use the upload tool instead, which never touches Instagram at all.

What it is good for

Turning a reel series into a carousel or a newsletter, writing accurate captions for accessibility, and keeping a searchable record of what you said across dozens of clips.

The words belong to whoever spoke them. Quoting and studying is ordinary, republishing a full script as your own is not.

Questions people ask

Does this work for private accounts?

No. Only public reels and video posts can be read. For anything private, download the file yourself and use the upload tool.

Can I transcribe an Instagram story?

Stories disappear after 24 hours, so they cannot be read from a link. Save the story first, then upload the file.

Which formats can I download?

TXT, SRT and VTT, and both subtitle formats keep a timing on every line.

Is anything stored?

No. The reel is read once to produce the text and nothing is written to our storage.
