Reddit video downloader
What makes a Reddit video downloader worth using is sound. Reddit stores picture and audio as two separate streams, which is why saved clips so often play silent. Everything offered here arrives with the audio already joined on. Clips save as MP4 with the sound joined in, and GIFs stay GIFs.
Why people use it
Files stream straight to your device. We keep no copy of the video or the link.

What quality Reddit actually serves
Reddit hosts video and audio as two separate files on v.redd.it, which is why so many saved Reddit clips are silent. We fetch both and join them, so sound is included by default.
| Format | What to expect |
|---|---|
| MP4 with sound | Video and audio tracks merged, up to 1080p when the poster uploaded it. |
| MP4 720p or 480p | The lower DASH rungs, smaller and quicker. |
| MP3 audio | Only for posts that actually carry an audio track. |
| GIF and image posts | Returned as MP4 or original image depending on how Reddit stored them. |

Why a Reddit download sometimes fails
The download is silent
That is the classic Reddit split. If it happens, retry once so the audio track is fetched alongside the video and merged before saving.
A quarantined or NSFW subreddit fails
Reddit gates those behind an account confirmation, so a logged out request cannot reach the media.
The link points at YouTube or Streamable
Plenty of Reddit posts only embed another host. Paste the underlying link instead and it resolves through that platform's route.
Good to know before you save from Reddit
Why Reddit videos sometimes save without sound
Reddit stores the picture and the sound as two separate files, which is why some downloaders hand you a silent clip. We ask for the version with sound whenever Reddit offers one. A clip that was uploaded silent will still be silent.
Save Reddit video with soundGIF posts are really short videos
Most Reddit GIFs are stored as MP4 today. You get the smaller, sharper video file, which plays almost everywhere a GIF does.
Turn a video into a GIFNSFW and quarantined communities
Posts in communities that need you to confirm your age, or quarantined ones, sit behind a Reddit login. Those cannot be read without an account.
Turn a Reddit video into textReddit Frequently asked questions
Why are Reddit videos usually silent when saved?
Reddit serves the picture and the sound as two separate files. A plain right click save only grabs the picture.
Do redd.it and old.reddit links work?
Yes, both formats resolve to the same post.
Can I save from a private subreddit?
No, those posts need an approved account.
What about crossposts?
Crossposts resolve to the original video, so they work.
Are NSFW posts supported?
Public NSFW posts resolve normally. Please respect the rules of the subreddit and the poster.
Can I get a GIF instead?
When the post is a GIF rather than a video, the source GIF is offered directly.
Do deleted posts still work?
Sometimes. The media object can survive briefly after the post is removed, but there is no guarantee.
Can I keep the comments?
No. Only the media is fetched, comments stay on Reddit.
